dobbinitallin – Four weeks and counting

The four weeks leading up to “dobbin day” were a busy affair getting used to not working and cleansing the mind. It certainly wasn’t cleansing the liver! There were many celebratory glasses of bubbles and sampling nice gin just because we could. It was a privilege to spend time with our lovely friends and family. We had some smashing lunch time treats and some spoily evening meals that made us feel very loved and hopefully those who we shared that time with will have felt they were loved back.

I have no idea how I managed to work. Some days we settled into bed absolutely knackered but I have to say a different knackered. I often went to bed knackered but didn’t sleep, my mind worrying about work and the merry go round I was on that never seemed to cease, but now I slept.

We sorted some bits and bobs on Hobby Hobster, new taps all shinney and no leaks, a new fitted rug all wicked and looking plush and most importantly was the purchase of the trailer that was required to carry Dorian to our destinations.

I have a little habit that annoys Denise immensely and I therefore continue to do it just for the fun of it. I name all our vehicles, there is no rhyme or reason to the names but if something strikes me then that’s the name they get, Hobby Hobster, Dorian (Grey) my Fiat 500, and now Peter! Peter the trailer…..who knows because I don’t. When I announced the name Peter was to be used for the trailer it was great. Exactly the reaction I expected “no Jo it’s not” Oh yes it is. So now Dorian rides on Peter who is pulled by Hobby Holster.

White Cottage put its arms around us and we continued to plot and plan our new life. Taking care of bank stuff, wills, and council tax.

JarJar made lots of friends

Johnathan Livingston Dove (pigeon maybe) has to have a mention.  Poor Johnathan had a chance meeting with either Marley, Jess or Lucy anyway he came off worse, however Deb rescued him and between us he ended up at the vets having his injuries tended too, well that was what I was told……..

Johnathan……(yes I know Johnathan should be a seagul!)

Then there was the fun stuff, a birthday celebration, some retail therapy, retirement party (well a weekend) and doing a swimming lesson. Hope you are practicing, you know who you are!

I feel a bit lost with my keeping fit I am not sure how I will make my way with this with out the inspirational Alex. I will miss my sessions and boxing. I am sure I will find a away forward.

So, a couple of days with Mum Dorothy and off we go…….
